LIFT Program

The LIFT Program provides tailored assistance for young people leaving care who are at risk of homelessness.

Designed specifically for young people transitioning from the Midland CPFS care system, LIFT creates a foundation for stability, independence and long-term wellbeing

Many participants enter the program after experiencing significant disruption or trauma in childhood. LIFT responds with consistent support, practical skill development and a safe environment where young people can begin planning for their future at their own pace.

LIFT recognises that leaving care can be a challenging transition, and aims to ensure young people feel supported, connected and equipped for adulthood.

Drug Education Program

The Drug Education Program delivers practical, evidence-based Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) education for young people, with a strong focus on harm reduction, wellbeing and informed choice.

Rather than relying on judgement or stigma, the program creates a supportive environment where young people can openly explore the impacts of substance use, build awareness and access the support they need.

Support is flexible and tailored to each individual, and may include:

  • One-on-one wellbeing assessments
  • Personalised guidance and referrals
  • Group education sessions
  • Informal counselling and check-ins

The program aims to strengthen knowledge, reduce preventable risks and support safer decision-making through respectful, youth-focused engagement.

Youth Empowerment Program (YEP)

YEP is an interactive 10-session program that helps young people explore identity, relationships, emotions and personal growth in a supportive group environment.

Using creative discussion, practical activities and collaborative learning, the program encourages participants to build confidence, strengthen communication skills and better understand themselves and others.

Sessions explore topics including self-esteem and identity, healthy relationships, coercive control awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, communication and conflict resolution

YEP is designed to give young people the tools, language and confidence to navigate challenges, build healthy connections and participate positively in their communities.

T120 (In-Roads)

T120 (In-Roads) is a therapeutic youth justice initiative providing an alternative pathway for young people who may otherwise face immediate detention.

The program supports young people aged 10–17 with complex and unmet needs through coordinated, culturally responsive and person-centred intervention.

Delivered through a consortium led by Karlup Aboriginal Corporation in partnership with Indigo Junction and Kids First Australia, the initiative works collaboratively with the Perth Children’s Court to reduce youth detention and strengthen long-term outcomes for young people and families.

The program focuses on therapeutic intervention and case coordination, addressing underlying drivers of offending behaviour, community support and building safer and more stable pathways forward
