Koolkuna Family and Domestic Violence Advocacy Service

People experiencing family and domestic violence can access this service for support in understanding their situation, making informed decisions, and planning for the future.

Our team provides:

  • Information to help recognise and understand violence and abuse
  • Safety planning and crisis intervention
  • Referrals to appropriate support services

Koolkuna Youth Family and Domestic Violence Advocacy Service

Our Youth Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) Service provides tailored support for young people aged 12–25 who are experiencing or have experienced family and domestic violence.

Our Advocates offer confidential, one-on-one support in a safe and welcoming environment. We will:

  • Listen to your experiences without judgement
  • Help you explore your options and plan next steps
  • Assess risks and develop safety plans
  • Connect you with counselling and relevant support services

Counselling is free of charge, with up to 15 sessions available, delivered in a neutral and secure space. Sessions are paced around your comfort level; there is no pressure to share more than you’re ready to.

Eligibility:

  • Aged 12–25
  • Experiencing or have experienced family and domestic violence
  • Willing to engage with support services
  • Linked to the City of Swan catchment

Referral pathways:
You can self-refer or be referred by a service.

Koolkuna Coordinated Response Service

This crisis response service provides early intervention and high-risk response to family and domestic violence in the local region.

Working alongside WA Police and the Department of Communities (Child Protection and Family Support), our team reviews reported incidents and helps coordinate appropriate responses.

Support may include:

  • Short-term case management
  • Advocacy and guidance
  • Connection to counselling and other services
