Indigo Junction has designed and delivered services within the Midland community for 45 years.

Indigo Junction began in 1979 as a single shelter known as Swan Emergency Accommodation. It was created out of community efforts, funds, and kindness to meet a long-highlighted need for a safe, homely, and reliable refuge in the Midland area for families, young people and single adults in crisis. Demand for this service soon outgrew the single dwelling and over the following decades the organisation added to its properties and expanded, offering services to meet the needs of the whole community.

Always more than a place of shelter, this community-focused ethos has continued to grow over the years, with a move from response-only to more preventative support and services to build self-reliance and develop practical life skills to benefit individuals and the wider community.

Known as Indigo Junction since 2016, the organisation remains centred around the personal relationships and community trust that it was originally built on.
